Originally from Donegal, Eiméar Harkin was awarded a BA hons in Fine Art from Ulster University in 2023. She obtained her Fine Art diploma in Northwest Regional College, Derry/Londonderry in 2019. Eimear has exhibited her work throughout Donegal and Northern Ireland; such as The Green Door Gallery, Buttermilk, Art Space Pobail Le Cheile, Art Cetera, Engine Room, Queen Streets Studios and Bangor Young Artists.

Colours and architectural details found in abandoned buildings play an essential part in Eiméar’s creative process.

“I find their histories and personalities fascinating, as well as the texture and substance of their surfaces… My work has been inspired by the worn-out paint that seeps through the paint cracks above and the texture it creates.”
