Sandra Turley
Sandra Turley is a Textile Artist specialising in installation and book art. Her work frequently addresses issues of identity, community and a sense of belonging, and is often process led and experimental in nature allowing for an instinctive resolution of ideas. She was awarded the Book Art Residency at the Women’s Studio Workshop New York and her work is held in public art collections including the County Wexford Art Collection, NCAD Dublin, Yale University and the Museum of Modern Art San Francisco.
“I have been an educator for most of my working life, teaching Biology in schools, Textiles at the University of Ulster and more recently planning and organising community projects. I’m very much about social issues, the human experience and the ordinariness of life rather than the big catastrophic moments.”
